Commissions

Many  contemporary artists, shy away from commissions, I have welcomed them, however, for a number of reasons. Firstly, they usually present a new artistic challenge that might stretch my skill level and introduce me to a new place. Secondly, I get to meet a person who knows and loves the land and share in that connection, and thirdly, I have the honour of being paid once the painting is complete.

Being on site and having an emotional response to a location is an essential component of my process. For me, that usually involves a couple of days or more of drawing and photographing. After that, the concept is shared and refined with the client. The painting process may take a month or more. After decades of painting, I have only had happy clients.
